Truck Load Calculator

How many loads to cart it away — checked by bin volume AND payload, because heavy material fills the scales before the bin.

Example inputs are editable. Use your project values. Enter 0 where no optional allowance is intended; blank fields pause the calculation.

How it works

  • Loads by volume = volume ÷ bin capacity (rounded up)
  • Tonnes = volume × density
  • Loads by payload = tonnes ÷ legal payload (rounded up)
  • Governing loads = the larger of the two

Worked example

235 m³ loose @ 1.6 t/m³ = 376 t By volume: 235 ÷ 9 = 27 loads · By payload: 376 ÷ 13 = 29 loads Governing: 29 loads (weight-limited)

Assumptions and practical notes

A 9 m³ bin of wet clay usually hits payload before it's full. Density is loose measure — use your weighbridge history if you have it.
