Truck Cycle Calculator

Work out truck cycle time and how much material your fleet can actually shift in a day.

Example inputs are editable. Use your project values. Enter 0 where no optional allowance is intended; blank fields pause the calculation.

How it works

  • Cycle = load + haul + tip + return + delays
  • Cycles/truck = working minutes ÷ cycle time (rounded down)
  • Volume/day = loads × capacity
  • Trucks required = target ÷ (cycles/truck × capacity), rounded up

Worked example

5 + 12 + 4 + 10 + 3 = 34 min cycle 8 hr day → 14 cycles/truck → 2 trucks = 28 loads = 252 m³/day

Assumptions and practical notes

Capacity is loose (bulked) measure. Check weight limits too — a 9 m³ bin of wet clay can exceed payload before it's full.
